Brad Lear appointed to Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in Seresto MDL

Brad Lear has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee for In re Seresto Flea and Tick Collar Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Litigation. In this role, Brad will work with the three, court-appointed co-lead counsel to prosecute the litigation. Brad will lead the Law & Briefing Committee.

This MDL is made up of a series of consolidated class action cases from around the country regarding the Seresto flea and tick collars developed by Bayer’s Animal Health Division and now marketed and sold by Elanco. These cases claim that Seresto collars can cause serious injuries to pets and their owners and that those risks were undisclosed to buyers of the product.

The EPA has received reports of more than 75,000 health-related incidents connected to the use of the Seresto Collars between 2012 and 2020, including 1,698 pet deaths and approximately 1,000 cases of physical harm to pet owners. Despite ample opportunity, the defendants refuse to disclose or otherwise warn consumers of these risks. And the defendants deny any wrongdoing related to Seresto.
