Brad Lear volunteers to answer legal questions from tornado victims

Lear Werts partner, Brad Lear, joined a team of volunteers to help victims of a tornado that ripped through Jefferson City, Missouri displacing hundreds of residents. Brad is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorney’s Emergency Response Team, which coordinates with the American Red Cross to provide legal services to victims of disasters. All services are provided pro bono, meaning free of charge.

The Red Cross, along with a variety of other agencies, charities, church groups, and private individuals, set up a resource center for the victims of the disaster. There they were able to get access to needed services and advice on how to deal with the challenges presented by experiencing a disaster. Brad met with numerous people who had lost their housing and had questions on coordinating with landlords and insurance companies to begin the process of putting their lives back together. When asked about the experience, Brad reflected “It is heart-warming to see the community come together to help our fellow neighbors like this. I was humbled to play a small role in that and grateful to be able to help.”
