Lear Werts recovered a five-figure settlement for a flight nurse that injured her neck while moving a patient that was on a stretcher out of the life-flight helicopter on which she was working. The injured worker suffered a severe disc herniation in her neck because of this. The client had a substantial amount of medical treatment and ultimately required a disc replacement surgery to repair the failed disc. Following a mediation, Lear Werts obtained a settlement that provided our client with compensation for the permanent disability she suffered as a result of her work injury. The settlement also included the employer’s agreement to pay for a future surgery if the disc implant needs to be replaced at some point.
